You’ve probably heard that tea is a healthy drink option that you would benefit from drinking. It’s true, tea has all sorts of health benefits, but there are so many kinds of tea, how do you know what you’ll like? Don’t make my mistake and buy 30 full boxes of tea (not all at once) and end up not liking most of them and letting the full box go to waste. That’s not a great option, it’s actually pretty frustrating.
I’m here to tell you about the best loose leaf tea sampler packs, which are the best way to give you a chance to find out what you like before going all in. I wish someone had suggested this to me this when I started drinking tea!
Another thing I wish someone had told me is the difference between loose leaf tea and tea bags and why you should drink loose leaf tea. So I’m going to do a quick explanation of that here too. Let’s get into it!
What is Loose Leaf Tea?
Loose leaf tea, in general, is just tea that is left loose, rather than put into prepackaged tea bags. In tea bags, tea is crushed finely into “tea dust.” While loose leaf tea is made from whole leaves of tea, which offers more flavor and quality.
Loose Leaf Tea vs. Tea Bag
There’s isn’t always a subjective “better” when it comes to this or that questions in wellness. In this case, however, there is and that “better” is definitely loose leaf tea. Single-serve tea bags are offer lower quality tea, which means less flavor and less potent health benefits. It’s also an issue that paper tea bags can contain dangerous chemicals. Premium Steap sums it up best here, “Paper tea bags can be coated with dioxin, epichlorohydrin or bleached in chlorine. Both can become active when exposed to hot water. Plastic tea bags, even though they may look better, they contain plastics like PVC or nylon that also exposes chemicals when steeped.”
It can be more convenient to use a tea bag than it is to use loose-leaf tea. But trust me when I tell you that it’s only a slight difference in the time it takes to prepare loose tea and tea bags. All you need is the right accessories, and who doesn’t love collecting accessories? I’ll link some at the end of the post so you have everything you need to get the most out of your loose leaf tea sampler set.
Health Benefits of Loose Leaf Tea
There are so many different types of tea because tea is made from plants and there are so many kinds of consumable plants. These plants’ natural ingredients make them excellent for steeping and enjoying their full flavors and health benefits. Each different type of tea has it’s own unique health benefits, so there’s no way I can list them all here.
There are many studies that show that consuming a variety of teas may boost your immune system, improve inflammation, and fight off cancer and heart disease. Some types of tea are more beneficial to our health than others, but the evidence is abundant that drinking tea regularly can improve your health overall. Many times the specific health benefits of a tea will be listed on its packaging. If it’s not, a quick internet search will give you all the specifics for all the tea types.
One thing to keep in mind when shopping for loose leaf tea is to verify that it is organic. That means there were no pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, or chemical fertilizers used to grow or process the tea after it was harvested. The problem with conventional tea is that heavy chemicals are used and the first time these leaves get washed from growth and processing is when they enter your cup of hot water. Organic tea is not much more expensive than conventional tea. So if you’re drinking it to improve your health, I would spring for the organic loose leaf teas 100% of the time.
Different Types of Teas
There are so many varieties of amazing teas, but they all fall under one of these categories. Most of these teas contain caffeine, but many herbal teas are naturally caffeine-free teas. If tea is labeled “naturally caffeine free,” that means it has no caffeine. If it’s labeled “caffeine-free,” that means the caffeine has been removed and there will still be a small amount remaining.

Best Loose Leaf Tea Sampler Packs

These loose leaf tea samplers are the best I found on amazon. I based my search on a few things. I looked for high-quality tea, a wide variety, strictly organic tea, and high average rating from consumers, and the size of the sample pack. This really narrowed down my search, especially when I specified only organic tea samplers! So you can find larger sets of loose leaf tea samples, but they aren’t organic, which is a very important factor in a quality tea sampler pack as I mentioned above. Go for quality over quantity!
Loose leaf tea samplers are a great gift idea for others, but just because many of these are gift sets doesn’t mean you can’t get them for yourself! Any variety pack you choose here will have enough tea to get someone started on their search for the best tea for them. These sets are in no particular order and there are more to be found, so check these out and then look around!
